Art
Trinity House School Art and Design
Art classes at Trinity House School give students the opportunity to express and develop their creativity and individuality. Our students are encouraged to explore and investigate different styles of art and are given the tools and experience to produce artwork for a variety of situations. Many of our art projects are linked to real life scenarios to enable students to see the need and importance of art in today's society.
KS3: National Curriculum
Students study Art and Design for two periods per week - which equates to 1 hour 40 minutes. All students study and investigate other artists work from ancient to modern times. They learn new techniques and processes in art and develop their skills to meet a range of different design briefs. Students are encouraged to improve their evaluation skills by looking at their own work and that of others and reflect on the meaning of their art work and how it is perceived by others.
We cover skills relating to the following Art and Design disciplines:
Fine Art; painting, drawing, sculpture
Graphic design and advertising
Illustration
3Dimensional Design - architecture
Mixed media
Photo/digital manipulation
Some of the projects are linked to local events and national competitions.
