Project 1 - Rubbish

Students collect items from home/school that would ordinarily be thrown away, they explore and generate ideas using the materials they have gathered.  The process culminates in producing an installation made from rubbish.  The installations should provoke questions about the reuse of materials.

Project 2 - Album Art

Students select a band/musician as a client, they generate a series of ideas for packaging an album.  They develop a design solution based on the individual requirements of the client, produce the album packaging and test their final piece.

Project 3 - Comics

Students study the work of three comic artists, focussing on use of line and colour.  They select one of the artists and produce a mood board.  Students produce a piece of work of their own based on either an action comic or a sci-fi comic.

Project 4 - Marks From Around The World

Students explore masks from different cultures around the world, focussing on origins, meaning and production.  They develop a mask for themselves in the style of another culture that they feel represents their own personality.  They should select materials and techniques to personalise their work.
