Project 1 - Me

Students collect a series of images that relate to their own lives, they produce two studies in the style of contrasting portrait artists which inform a piece of their own, a self portrait, that must communicate who they are, development takes place in sketchbooks.

Project 2 - Plant Life

Still life, based on plant life, students produce two contrasting pieces based on different foliage/flowers.  One is a study, the other is printmaking using foliage and/or digital photography, using a limited palette of colours.

Project 3 - Breakdown

Students select an abstract artist and produce a mood board based on their work, the board should explain how they think the artists worked, how their images came about and their rationale.  Students produce a piece of their own based on the artists work (using line, shape, tone, colour).  Ideas are developed in sketchbooks.

Project 4 - 15 Minutes

Students investigate a celebrity of their choice, gathering and presenting information about them.  Students explore the work of Warhol and Lichtenstein.  Students produce a mixed media piece that they feel represents their chosen person.  Students reflect on the success of their work and the work of others.
